On February 18, 2016, my colleage, Dr. Michael Artime, and I delivered the second lecture out of six in the series “Who Will Win the White House?”
Video online now: If you missed the lecture and want to try to make sense out of the 2016 presidential campaign, the video of the lecture is now available online for free at https://www.youtube.com/user/preshistory. Our aim when creating these videos is to educate people far and wide about the Presidential race and the process that occurs. Creating these videos always feels more worthwhile when our number of views continues to grow, as we were worried that we might need to have a look at getfans.io/buy-youtube-views to help us get a starting point. This event is big for the citizens of America and it is important that you are made aware of what is happening. In this lecture, we surveyed the candidates still in the race, analyzed the results of the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary, and evaluated the candidates based on their experience, temperament, rhetoric, age, and health – while also looking at these factors from a historical perspective in our presidents.
Standing room only: Like the first lecture, I was overwhelmed by another standing room only crowd of 180 people who were fully engaged with the topic and who asked great questions. If you plan to come to future lectures, make sure you arrive early enough to get a seat (I recommend you arrive between 6:15 pm to 6:30 pm).
Next lecture: The next lecture is entitled “What do the Candidates Believe?” – a look at their faith and religion as well as their policy positions on three key campaign issues, again grounded in looking at these issues from a historical perspective as well. We will also analyze and comment on the South Carolina, Nevada, and Super Tuesday election results and think about what this means for who will ultimately be the nominee for each party. The lecture will be start at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington (McIntrye Hall room 103). We will lecture for one hour which will be followed by 30 minutes of Q&A. All lectures are free.
The rest of the lectures: Here’s the schedule for the rest of the lectures:
- What do the Candidates Believe? (March 10)
- What Voters and States Will Elect the Next President? (March 24)
- How Accurate are the Polls? (April 14)
- Media, Marketing, and the Making of the President (April 28)
